Gun safety course

I have a renewed interest on my guns. Honestly haven't shot in about 10 years. Been busy with my business and riding my bikes and in general other interests. So my town is offering a gun safety course I will be taking. Just want to be as safe as I can. My wife is not crazy about the guns. But seems to be more and more violence in this area. A lot of robberies and such. Used to shoot a lot as a kid,my father was very much into guns, mostly rifles. Learned a lot from him. So what to do with my 357 Dan Wesson. My 380 beretta to prep these guns for service. Should they be torn down and cleaned, should I have them serviced by a gun smith. They have been in a locked gun storage box for maybe 10 years. Pulled them out last week, they looked ok. And I could just clean them. Had the Dan Wesson since 1974. Had the beretta about 12 years. My friends belong to shooting clubs, may look into that. Any advice appreciated. Jack

My father pulled his Browning 22 rifle out of the storage box it had been in for about 30 years and cleaned it up and went shooting... It worked out ok, but if you have questions about the weapon it could not hurt to get a gun smiths opinion on the weapons safety.

Thanks Arckadian. Think I will drop them off. Just let them go thru them. Jack
