Brother in arms I know you got the answer....
You don't need a class 3 to own a suppressor or a machine gun. It requires a tax stamp. "Class 3" means 03 SOT(Special Occupational Tax) which enables FFL dealers to sell NFA items.

So the tax is on the dealer that u pay and enables the transfer to be legal??

Negative. You(the buyer) have to fill out an ATF Form 4, and get the chief LEO in your county to sign off on it. Then submit it with your finger prints, a passport photo, and a $200 check to the ATF. If you form a trust, you won't need the signature, prints or passport photo. Wait 6-8 months or so, and you'll receive the tax stamp. Then you can pick up your suppressor.

Don't let the forms or any of the process discourage you. Once you do it you'll see its actually a fairly simple process. Hardest part is the wait
