Tip #1 set up is crucial. Set up cross ways or facing the wind with good shooting lanes into the down wind. The sun can also be a huge deal if your trying to look into it. And don't forget to conceal yourself(camo, landscape, etc).

Tip #2. Trail Cameras. If you are hunting smaller acreage and hunting coyotes that just pass through trail cams can be a great tool. You can see how regularly they come through and when. Plus it's a great hobby in of itself.

Good one tscott. Tip #3 would probably have to be if you've got a high power scope turn it waaay down. Because if they pop outta no where at 50 yards your already turned down and don't have to waste the movement or time. If they are far away then you should have time to turn it up.

An electronic or other type of varmint call works very well calling in yote's. But you have to learn what calls to use,and the length of time you use each call technique.
We use electronic calls during the day and night for them.

Decoys also work very well. I prefer to use the electric motion decoys, but stationary decoys work really well also. These are daytime only.

We also bait them. When we shoot big feral hogs, that we don't consider edible,we will drag them out in a field, and in a day or two,the coyotes will be all around them getting their fill.
You can easily get multiple yote's off the baits.

If you have an open field with a clump of trees or something out in the field to conceal yourself in, that is the best. I also like fence rows between fields.
Don't be afraid to move to a different field if after calling for 30 min to an hour if nothing shows up.
Good luck and just have fun.
