And drinks 8 to 10 Martinis a day.

And drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C:

He's a vegetarian,
Doesn't smoke,
Drinks an occasional beer
And never committed adultery.

I wouldn't really consider FDR as one of our finer presidents. His administration kick-started this "the gov't can fix the problem" sickness that has infected more and more people in the last 70 years.

I agree that FDR wasn't one of our "finer" presidents but when he first took office during the worst depression in American history, he had to do something totally radical to get the country back on it's feet. Unemployment was like 25% and you have seen films of long soup lines and hopelessness on many faces. His New Deal of '33 was a mixture of policies to 'kick start" the economy, some say socialist programs but as late as 1940 things weren't getting any better. Some people even feel that Roosevelt sacrificed the Pearl Harbor fleet to get us out of the depression. I can't say yes or no but that "big" government intervention, foreign wars and huge deficits sprang from this period and has continued on today...my stand is less government the better. Protect our borders, collect taxes and maintain a balanced budget..for this is a republic not a serfdom which seems to be the norm today...getting off my soapbox for the night.

Going off on a tangent. I grew up (for a short time) in a New Deal township. Greenbelt Maryland was one of the New Deal projects that allowed people of a certain financial status (or lack thereof one) to move into one of these formed communities.

There were a number of them spread around the North East. Greenbelt was actually a pretty decent place to be a kid. There were little parks with swings and other play items. To get to school you didn't have to cross any streets. There were underpasses. And the community center had the stores, entertainment and sporting areas.

It was great then but seems rather socialistic and utopian now.

Both my father and his brothers worked in CC camps .There was no work so they built Paris Island. We are at the stage of history repeating itself again. This time they will openly discriminate against the white blue eye monster. JMO!

When I was a kid in school learning about US history, FDR was basically given a saintly heir in the history books. I couldn't understand why my father didn't like him or his policies.
As I grew up, I became a bit of a history buff like my dad. We would talk about books and share thoughts and opinions. Sometimes we agreed, sometimes not so much. But his insights helped to form my interest in looking beyond the surface and explore what was really going on at certain points in our past.
I fact, many economists agree that the policies of the FDR administration probably extended the depression, and it was really only WW2 that brought us out of it.
I admire Franklin D Roosevelt as a man that overcame a lot of hardships and challenges to become a success; it's just many of his policies that I disagree with.

I wonder how history will portray BHO. Will it glorify him or tell the abysmal truth? I have a sinking feeling they'll make a saint out of him.

As a man who hates white people!!!!!!! Also hated the American way of life so did his wife. They should be stripped of the citizenship and be deported.

You are allowed to be shocked or stunned, but just pass it on.
DO NOT ADD A SINGLE WORD

Yes, he told us in advance what he planned to do. Few were listening.
The following is a narrative taken from a 2008 Sunday morning televised "Meet The Press'.
From Sunday's 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, Televised "Meet the Press" THE THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.
General Bill Gann' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...
During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".

Senator Obama replied :
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides." "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of warring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ......"

When I Become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam, an unfair injustice which is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past".

"Of course now, I have found myself about to become The President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First black Family.Indeed,CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America."
Yes, you read it right.
Dale Lindsborg, Washington Post

EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA NEEDS
TO READ THIS, SO KEEP IT GOING ! !
SAVE AMERICA BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE ! !

Please pass on without comment ~~~

"Negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon.
the pigeon knocks over all the pieces, on the board and
then struts around like it won the game."

He completely lost me about that time when he said in an interview that "I don't care what the Constitution says, I am going to do what I want anyway."
