Default Refrigerate Without Electricity

I woudn't consider this real refrigeration, but it's certainly something to keep food items cooler if you can keep the critters away from it. It simple, cheap and makes sense.

Take a smaller pot and put it inside of a larger pot. Fill the space in between them with wet sand, and cover the top with a wet cloth. When the water evaporates, it pulls the heat out with it, making the inside cold. It's a natural, cheap, easy to use and even portable refrigerator. So, instead of perishable foods rotting after only three days, they can last up to three weeks using this method.

It may actually work better than I think it would. For those who KNOW how refrigeration actually works, this is the same concept.

Many have the idea that AC for example is like moving a blower over ice or cold water. Kinda works the same in the end but that's not what is taught to refer techs. The purpose of Refrigeration is not to make something cold. The purpose is to remove the heat, then cold happens to be what is left after the heat is removed. That is also how refrigeration removes humidity where if you were blowing a fan over ice, you're not removing humidity.
