    Budget optic for 7.62x39 AR15

Well, I ended up calling an audible. I found a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10×50 on sale for $149 and had a gift guard which meant I was only about $100 out of pocket. I couldn't pass that up. It will go on the 7.62x39 AR for now but will likely end up on my 270.

    Finally finished the 7.62x39

Ballistically, I like the 6.8 better but there is a lot to be said cheap and highly available 30 caliber rifle ammo. The color isn't a perfect match but it is closer than it looks in the picture. The ASC magazine is extremely close to the magpul plastic. The upper is cerakote it is a little...

    Finally finished the 7.62x39

It was originally going to be a 6.8 but mainly because of ammo cost it ended up being a 7.62x39. It mostly a budget build does have a Geissele trigger. Now she just needs some irons or an optic.

    Budget optic for 7.62x39 AR15

Nothing wrong with that. Their 1-6 looks pretty tempting too and both are available with a 7.62x39 specific reticle.

    Budget optic for 7.62x39 AR15

A while back, I started what I intended to be a 6.8 built specifically for hunting. I got the lower built with a Magpul FDE CTS stock and grip and a Geissele trigger. When I got to that point, the barrel I wanted was out of stock. Then, life got in the way and I am finally getting around to...

    Review: Ten X Ring 38SPC, 130 gr +P

With handguns, this is absolutely true. If the brain can function and send signals to the body, the body can still function. It takes massive blood loss or a shock to the central nervous system to shut off the lights. It is nothing like hollywood. Now, once you start getting up into...

Taurus also used to make 92's for Berretta. They have had some issues but they also have some pistols that are very good values.

    Review: Ten X Ring 38SPC, 130 gr +P

That is good shooting :waytogo: I definitely prefer "premium" ammo for social work but ultimately, at least in my opinion, it is unlikely that the ammo will determine survival in a conflict. It seems thugs don't like getting shot with anything and getting shots on target is what it is all...

Possible Luby's Cafeteria Massacre Thwarted in OKC???

Eh, really we are just much more aware of it now. I certainly agree with carrying as much gun as you can though. There are times I just have a 380 in my pocket but typically I carry a full size M&P with 15+1 of 357 Sig on my hip. If I am ever unfortunate enough to have to use one, I would...

So much fail (home defense ammo)

This ignorant fool just doesn't get it. Any round that will adequately penetrate the vitals of a human torso will penetrate through walls. He actually thinks a 53 grain vmax has too much penetration for defensive use. I feel sorry for anyone ignorant or foolish enough to listen to him...

    AR15 22lr

Build an actual 22lr AR or just get an M&P 15-22? The M&P is the cheaper and simpler option but is a 22 on an actual AR platform worth the difference?

    Kid's first rifle

Absolutely nothing wrong with an AR. In fact, I would like to add one in 22lr to my own collection. I just don't like the idea of using any semiautomatic to teach a young kid to shoot. I like knowing there won't be a live round in the chamber if they get excited and swing the muzzle in an...

    Kid's first rifle

My grandson is only 6 months old so, I have plenty of time but can't wait till he is old enough to teach him how to shoot. Of course, this is a great excuse, I mean reason, to buy a new rifle. I was looking at a crickett earlier and it looks like pretty much perfect for a young kid to learn...
