    1911's... Let's see em...

sprsnk: You win! :) That is an awesome collection of 1911's. I like the 2012 Colt with the diamond-plate pattern, and the grips on the Kimber Gold Match. Those are beautiful guns...they would never leave my safe except to show to people....lol.

New to the forum and looking for a .300 WSM

Check out Tikka's. They are Beretta's rifles, basically. Very nice. I'm probably also getting a .300 WSM, a Tikka T3 Lite SS in left-handed bolt. I live in Alaska, and have heard nothing but good about them, so they can take a beating and bad weather.

I really like that Wilson Supergrade. Not sure why, but the grips really set it off for me. Here's a couple shots of my Sig 1911 Nitron Carry. I like the Nitron...it's like a cerakote or something, just matte black. Basic shot: Gun-porn version:

Where'd you get the magwell? Is that something you have to have a smith do? It looks seamless on your Sig. That's a beast of a pistol...I like it! The magwell and some custom grips are about the only changes I plan on making to my Sig. Still need to get some pics...just hasn't been real high on...

Dang, I gotta get some pics of my new Sig 1911 Nitron Carry....but, until then, here's the Kimber Pro Carry II: Pachmayr grips on it, also have some really nice custom cocobolo grips in the second picture. One thing I don't like about the Kimber is there is no front checkering, which is why...

    1911 Springfield hand gun

Replace the recoil spring with a Wolff Spring. Inexpensive and I've always had good luck with them. Worth a shot before rebuilding anything, anyway. http://www.gunsprings.com/Semi-Auto%20Pistols/COLT/1911%20GOV%27T%20PISTOL/cID1/mID1/dID1

    Rock Island Armory .45

I agree with everything stated. There are a lot of guns I wouldn't consider for duty use but that are generally fine as casual shooters. RIA's are the latter. I've heard too many horror stories about them to ever fully trust them to function at all times. The same can be said of many of the guns...

    Kimber Ultra Carry II

I've had un Ultra Carry II for years. It's comfy to wear and accurate out of the box, but there's significant twisting torque on the wrist in the recoil. It's very hard to quickly reacquire the target. I moved up just an inch in barrel and to a steel framed Sig 1911 Carry, and there's almost no...
