Ivory ban proposals

Hi Folks
As most of you know, along with other gun services I sell custom grips. Ivory has long been used as a grip material. Several States are proposing bans on Ivory to cut down on poaching of elephants. It's not just a gun industry issue, it effects antiques with ivory inlays, older pianos with ivory keys, many musical instruments and the list goes on and on.
The most absurd part of many of these proposed bans is they include a ban on Mammoth Ivory that is found in permafrost in Russia, Canada and Alaska. Mammoth Ivory has been in the ground for tens of thousands of years and has nothing to do with todays elephant problem.
Please Check out
Elephant Protection Association
you can see they propose common sense laws that protect the elephant and don't make criminals of everyday law abiding citizens. Click on the "stop state level Ivory ban bills" that links you to a form letter that one click can send to your local lawmakers.
No one wants to see elephants disappear from this earth, but making it illegal to sell Grandma's piano at a garage sale doesn't seem like a solution.

Many thanks for your time.
