First of all yes they are legal. Not actual switchblades but spring assist folders. And I did order one from Amazon and it broke within about 30 seconds of taking it out of the box.

Been carrying Kershaw for years. The have great warranty service also.

Unfortunately the Stiletto style knife doesn't look to be made by many reputable manufacturers. Cold Steel makes them but not in the assist version you're looking for. Schrade makes the Viper (out the front) assist knife. Benchmade makes one but it's $180. And a company called Tac Force make a bunch like what you're looking for but I don't know how they're made.
