hey I found this thing a year ago under a viaduct and I wonder what it is. I don't even know if it's a real gun or not yet but it's metallic

What kind of metal is it made from. Is it heavy like a real revolver would feel or lighter like a kids toy (pot metal)? From the picture, it looks more like a kids toy. The trigger guard is missing. If it were a real gun, it would be pretty difficult to lose that.

...as well as the hammer.

Can you tell if the cylinder is a seperate piece?

it looks and feels like a real metal, like the one you would use to make a spoon or a fork
and yeah alot of things are missing and falling apart
I noticed a 4 0 5 on the handguard. the O in the middle is just a large circle so i'm thinking .45 rounds? (if it's a real weapon)

I can't really tell for the cylinder because the whole gun is sticking from everywhere and nothing can move because of the rust, but I noticed a metal wire near it that is around an other piece.

The hammer is missing

This is what it looks like inside, with the wire I was talking earlier (the grip fell apart as well)

I am gonna say it was once a really nice toy gun, long before they all went plastic and fake.

That still looks like what is referred to as "pot metal" to me. Even the way it has corroded looks like pot metal. A real gun would have red rust all over it. Like oppo said, I think it was a cap gun once upon a time.
