Started this project before I got the gun....

A little more progress here.

Got the new shotgun the other night and put the 18" barrel and mocked the birdshead grip on it.

Then I did this last night

I picked up this neat little Magpul rear reciever sling mount for their SGA stock which is actually pretty cool.

Then I had to modify the part of the stock that attaches to the receiver

Well I think I may have gone too far. I'm not completely sold on the 7 shot side saddle right now... Thoughts?

The 7 rounder does look quite bulky. Do they make a 5 round version?

Are you going to restain it?

The plan was to duracoat all the metal OD green and go with a slightly darker stain than stock.

I do kind of like how it looks right now though. We'll see.

I decided against the 7 round side saddle thing... Just too bulky.

Not anything special this weekend. I finally got the wood dowel done at work on Friday and epoxied it in on Saturday night.

On Sunday I went to the hardware store to get a shorter bolt/screw to hold the birdshead grip but they didn't have anything the length I needed. It was a 1/4-28 screw and I had a die at home so I just cut the original stock screw down and re threaded it.

Probably threaded longer than it needed to be but it won't hurt anything

Well I got the ATI Magazine extender in.

The install wasn't as straight forward as I had expected but I figured it out. I had read a while back that the tabs that hold the cap at the end of the magazine tube had to be drilled out so I did that and then cleaned up the inside with my dremel tool. The spring had gotten bent up a little before I went to install it but I don't know if I did it or it came in the package that way.

I received a question on this shotgun on my youtube video and it made me realize that I had never updated this thread with the video.

Just a quick shoot at work and now it sits next to my bedside table on home defense duty.
