Don't forget the safety-aspect.
If you shoot a squirrel at waist-level or lower, you're almost guaranteed to hit something else as well.
If you shoot a squirrel at thirty feet above the ground that risk is much lower.

Strange, it works for me. Anyways, it is "West Texas holiday" by Pat Green. It is essentially a song about dove season and one of the lines is "if it flies, it dies."
