Lookin at shotguns

I've been a deer hunter and rifle user since I was 8 and I haven't really been into duck/dove huntin. But past couple years I've been doin it more with friends and have really come to like it. I'm in the market for a pretty good shotgun. Pump or semi it doesn't really matter. Either one I'm pretty good with, but I don't know what brands really to be lookin at for each. I mean I know benelli, mossberg, Remington, and a few others. But what models would be good to start out with? I'm lookin in the $400 range. Any help is appreciated.

I did walk into a pawn shop with my pops one day and found a real nice benelli semi for 400. Looked to have been kept up pretty good and didn't have any surface rust on it. I didn't catch the model though in it. Seemed to shoulder pretty good and wasn't that heavy compared to my buddies 870 he has.

I also am looking for the a similiar setup.

I am leaning towards the new Mossberg flex. Got to see and touch one at Cabela's Saturday. Very nice gun - $400. Multiple configurations that you can easily change yourself.

Haven't even looked at anywhere besides academy lol. Need to take a trip to bass pro. I've really been leanin toward a 870 just because of how reliable they've been for everyone I know that has one. But that benelli at the pawn shop is still goin trough my head as well. Any other suggestions?

Benellis may be more than I want to spend, but like said I found the one at a pawn shop. Still considering it but not sure yet. Never heard of the escort legacy? Gonna have to check em out. And browning! That's the one I couldn't remember. Thanks guys. Got some readin to do

The Escort is Turkish made by a company called Hatsan. They are imported by Legacy. They are very popular in England. Just making their way here. I think that's why their prices are so good. Trying to break into the American market. I've got the Escort MPA tactical semi auto and it is a well built gun.

I read about the escort, seems like on duckhuntingworld.com a lot of people have had bad luck with it. Idk if they've fixed the problems though.

Go get that Benelli! Atleast see what model it is. I have a Montefeltro and absolutely love it.

I love my 870, its a great shooter and very reliable for right around your price range. It's kind of like a Ruger 10/22, there are endless things you can do with them.

BUT, my next shotgun will definitely be a Benelli Super Nova, only because I love pump shotguns

I use a Benneli supernova for duck and quail huntin. Used my buddies Browning BPS when I started out. Also shot his Benelli super Vinci. All great guns. The super Vinci is very nice but I didn't wanna spend that kind of money. I got the supernova for $500 new with sling, soft floating case, and 2 extra chokes so I couldn't pass it up.

I looked and I did the research, and in the end, I decided that I wanted a Remington 870 Police edition. My local gun dealer got a 870 just like I wanted and it was a Remington Police demo model - so it was broken in. I got it at a real good price. I think the only thing I want on it is the shell holder. What do you think? Do I need anything else?
