Serves Them Right - Layoffs

So who's placing bets on where the unemployment numbers will rise to?

I only hope some or all of the people laid off voted for Obama (although I know conservatives will be getting the axe too). And this is just the beginning.

Atlas is starting to shrug. In the past 48 hours, the following companies have all announced layoffs in the USA:

- Westinghouse
- Research in Motion Ltd.
- Lightyear Network Solutions
- Providence Journal
- Hawker Beechcraft
- Boeing
- CVPH Medical Center
- US Cellular
- Commerzbank
- Iberia
- Momentive Performance Materials
- Brake Parts
- Gameforge Berlin
- Vestas Wind Systems
- Husqvarna
- ING
- Ericsson
- SRA International
- PerkinElmer
- Majestic Star Casino and Hotel
- Center for Hospice NY
- Bristol-Myers
- Lower Bucks Hospital
- Oce North America
- Corning
- United Blood Services Gulf
- Atlantic Lottery Corporation
- Welch Allyn
- Dana Holding
- Stryker
- Boston Scientific
- Medtronic
- Smith & Nephew
- Abbott Labs
- Covidien
- Kinetic Concepts
- St. Jude
- Hill Rom
- Darden Restaurants
- JANCOA
- Kroger
- Caterpillar
- Alcatel-Lucent
- Umatilla Chemical
- Rocketdyne

I was also told about lay offs around the US too. Mostly due to Obamacare and employers not wanting to fork the bill.

Anyways... Last election when he got in the first time a company (i won't say who) was going around the parking garage and taking tag numbers of anyone who had an Obama sticker. They, needless to say, were the first ones to go if and when lay offs came.

That makes sense. Why would you want to keep employees that have a hand in trying to do you in? If they like the thought of socialism so much, let them go take part in welfare. I do feel sorry for the conservatives that get caught up in this mess. I'm sure many of them will be getting laid off as well.

List doesn't even include a lot of local places around the country that are cutting out employees. It's going to be one hell of a ride for the next 4 years... Not in a good way.

There are probably as many "Mom & Pop" places downsizing or closing that don't get the publicity the big companies do. Their numbers may equal or surpass the larger companies.

The lies he tells about only taxing those that make over $250K. According to this article there are at least 12 ways those making under $200K will be spending more money. It doesn't matter if it's a tax on the individual or a company, the company will be passing it on to the consumer anyhow.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/12-...-pledge-not-increase-taxes-households-earning

http://www.fireandreamitchell.com/2...are-for-people-earning-under-200000-per-year/

The tax cuts expiring, Obamacare, Taxing the rich. Now how many of those making over $250K (or whatever the number is) will still be making that kind of money once these taxes hit? I know if I were near that figure, I'd be doing what I could to avoid showing it.

Obama doesn't care about revenue. It's been shown numerous times the lowering taxes generates more revenue. But he ignores these facts. It's all about power, control and politics. He doesn't really care about the economy or the state of the nation.

I live in an area dependent upon coal. The day after the election, coal companies laid off employees with no plans for callbacks.

In the last 3 years since he's been in office, no new coal permits have been issued. The local economy here will be decimated. I mean decimated.

And this crap about those over 200 or 250k. I happen to think 50% of my income is more than my "fair share"

No poor man ever gave me a job.

There you go cupcake. Anything for you. Oh, and speaking of cupcakes, you can add to that Hostess Bakery. Another 18,500 people looking for work. Due to their Union not negotiating with a struggling company.
