.50 BMG Rifle

This year I am looking to purchase a .50 BMG Rifle. I don't know a lot about them so I need some help with my research. I known they make a Semi-Automatic and a Single fire. They also make .50 caliber uppers that you can use with your AR15 lower. But that is about all I known about them. Any suggestion or info would be greatly welcome.

In general...

Semi = BIG $$$

Bolt action = better accuracy

Single shot bolt action = cheapest option

Barrett is a popular name in 50BMG. I entered a raffle to win one but alas, it went to someone else. It was a Barrett BMG with glass to match the rifle. The total package was said to be worth close to $20K. Winning it is the only way I'll end up with one.

In general...

It is going to be a range gun. Budget will be no more than $8,000 for the gun.

That will open up a lot of options. You will get better accuracy from a bolt action but I believe you can get an M82A1/M107 for that or very close to it. Another option would be to have a rifle custom built. Regardless, I am jealous.
