Police create "Safe Room" for people who are in danger
Updated: Sep 26, 2016 - 10:11 AM
Hope it's not anywhere near a college - all the faculty and most of the student body will all try and cram in there. :rondod:PULASKI, WISCONSIN - A small Wisconsin town's police department is giving the public an introduction to its new "Safe Room".
The room is at police department headquarters in Pulaski.
The town's police chief says it was simply time to offer a safe place for people to go.
He says while the safe room has yet to be used for emergency reasons, that doesn't mean it's not important.
"It could be used for domestic violence related incidents as well as maybe a sexual assault and maybe even road rage. As far as having an incident occur, they can occur anywhere, anytime, in any community," says Chief Mark Hendzel.
The Safe Room is available 24 hours a day.
