Pole Arm that shoots out name?

i remember seeing a video awhile ago about this pole that is about the size of your hand then you press a button and it sends the rest of it out like a pole anyone know the name of them?

Need a little more to go on. What would it be used for? Self defense as in a baton? What diameter is the "pole" and how long does it extend?
