What am I looking for (details inside)

For all you knowledgeable folks. I'm trying to find a weapon of sorts, though I'm not sure if it qualifies as a sword or knife, thats the closest description i can get.

I need something fairly short: from guard to tip no longer than the average thigh. I need whatever it is to be fairly light, or at least balanced for speed. I need it to be dulled or blunt on the sides with a sharp point.

technically it would be used for defense and thrusting in lethal scenarios.

although i'm really just interested in finding out what this type of thing would be, if anything at all.

Totally honest the image I have in my head is of a very blurry elongated sai.

While the following do not meet all of your criteria, they are the closest I can think of off the top of my head.

Rondel, Baselard, Poignard.

Very few weapons of that length are designed only for thrusting. Stilletos are generally much smaller with often a triangular cross section. Fusettos are also strictly thrusting weapons, but again they are quite short compared to what you describe.

There are several types of socket bayonets that would fit the description very closely if fitted with a proper hilt and grip.
